Oftentimes, the sufferers and even the physicians themselves are not certain of the actual site of the pain's origin. Since lower back pain radiates into the other sections of the body, people tend to become unsure of how to provide initial relief on themselves and how would doctors diagnose the condition. 

Stretching exercises work by stretching the soft tissues that are found at the ligaments, muscle, tendons located around the spine and at the back bone. The spinal column and all that encompasses it are specifically designed for mobility and stretching. However, due to some factors like injuries and degeneration of the discs, these body parts cannot be moved. 

Like with ordinary back pain, the causes that arise in chronic back pain are often undetermined since the anatomical causes are quite hard to distinguish, even with the use of x-rays. Chronic back pain is difficult to deal with in itself. Unfortunately, majority of chronic attacks give room for the development of clinical depression. 

Otherwise, the chord has nothing to do with frequent back pain rather, the problem may be associated with nerve roots. The spinal chord ends at the lumbar 1(L1). The spinal column is divided into several sections, the lumbar section comprise the lower back where weight is generally concentrated. Additionally, it is in the lumbar where nerve roots may be located, impairment or any condition that may lead to such is the proponent to pain but never the spinal chord. 

Paradoxically, the extent of pain has nothing to do with the intensity of damage afflicted on the patient. Unlike with acute ailments and disease, chronic lower back pain is generally not associated with the height of damage accumulated. A large herniated disc may be relatively painless whereas muscle spasm due to back strain can be a reason for excruciating back pain. 

We are not raising arguments on this issue; we are just presenting what is factual. Nor are we proving that contemporary medicine works more efficiently than that of the more traditional methods. Anything that works well for the patients will continue on working well. Unless other factors impede it. The thing is it really doesn't matter what back pain remedy we use, we only have to seek for what is effective and which of them creates more productive results.
